Mass Media And Skepticism
This doesn't exist apparently. I've read three articles from mainstream news sources about a guy that is able to get 110 miles per gallon out of a 1987 Mustang. Then there are claims of the car having 400 horsepower, going 0 to 60 in 3 seconds, and 500 MPG being just around the corner. And it will do "over a hundred." My 130 hp Hyundai goes "over a hundred."
The kicker is in this snippet:
... won't show us under the hood. Some of his gizmos are still awaiting patents. But the secret lies in making engines more efficient.
How convenient. Why is this reporter still receiving a paycheck? This mechanic is getting free publicity from a dubious claim and the reporter doesn't even have some skepticism nor do they mention any other sources that may be experts in the field of internal combustion engines.
One last little niggle with the snipped, of course making a more fuel efficient cars involves making the "enginges more efficient." Shocking revelation!
