Ramblings From Justin Penney

My wonderful little 1979 GS550E is now somewhere in KCK. It was a bittersweet farewell; I am glad to have the money to put toward my new motorcycle, but that was a damn good bike.

I won't miss the carburetors and their reluctance to start in cold weather, or the 29 year old hoses that needed replaced if you had to move one. I won't miss the 15 minute warm up time or the charging problems common with the model. I won't miss chain tensioning and chain lube!

I will miss the throaty, sporty high revving engine. I miss the aggressive seating position and the "lean me over" feel. I'll miss being unassuming and unique.
