Vacation Check In

I have a spare 45 minutes while Jacey and Lily are horseback riding. I headed in to Osage Beach to check on the rest of the world . . . I mean the Internets. It's still there and still a great time killer.

We have a bunch of pictures that we will upload soon. The activities that we have done include: swimming, hiking, a cave tour, camping and driving! The plan for today is possibly renting a boat.

I haven't traditionally been much of a camper, meaning that I have never camped before. The closest that I have been to camping was sleeping in a tent in Ryan's yard, not too campy. Saturday night was alright. There were a lot of people but everyone turned in, or at least got quiet at a reasonable time. There was, however, some creature in the tree above our tent that made a hideous noise that kept me up most of the night. I couldn't find it and it did not respond to having a flashlight shone at it.

Last night, Sunday, I was excited as we set up camp since there was almost no one at the campground. We found a nice shady spot with a view of the lake. There were some people around but nothing too close and no one that was being too loud. That all ended when an old suburban pulled into the site directly behind us. Nine freaking people piled out of that thing. The were noisy and excited, but it was 8:00 o'clock, not a big deal. They set up camp and left.

About 10:30 the suburban rolls back in and they pile out again and they are LOUD. They also give every kid a flash light which they run around with and start shining thin in random patterns and directions illuminating our tent sporadically. It was horrible. Did I mention that they were loud!

Tonight we are probably hitting one of the primitive camp sites as they are more secluded and there aren't people in the same clearing. I am really beginning to just plain hate people. They don't think about their actions . . . and I'm not just talking about these shitty campers. It's a huge problem with our entire culture.
