I Need Suggestions for a New Bank
Commerce Bank recently changed their login protocol on their site and I can no longer update in Quicken automatically. I sent a message to their technical support and got this response:
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, due to the new Multifactor Authentication security feature, customers are not able to remotely access MS Money, Quicken or other financial software for downloading. To utilize Quicken at this time, you may use the manual Download function from the Account Summary page, or to use Quicken to download your information directly into the software, you may sign up for the direct connect service. This service is separate from Online Banking through our web site. To sign up for the service follow these steps. 1. Go to our home page www.commercebank.com. 2. Click on 'online banking'. 3. Click on 'Quicken/MS Money' on left side of screen. 4. Scroll down and click on 'Download an Application'. 5. You will need to print this form, fill it out, and send it in to us. 6. Once we receive this form we will mail you your user id and pin number for Quicken direct download. Keep in mind there is a fee for this service. The fee is $3.00 a month for 8 downloads. Each download after eight is $.35. If you have any other questions, please e-mail us or call 1-800-986-2265. We are available from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Central Time. Thank you for using Commerce Bank's Online Banking Service.
So I can now use a method that is inconvenient and error prone or pay them money. I don't like either option. We've been Commerce Customers for 7 years! I sent them an email back stating that these options didn't work well for us. They essentially said, "tough." So we're bank shopping! Send me comments and emails please!
