"...wish the Bush presidency were simply over."

According to this Newsweek article 58% of Americans with the Bush Presidency were over.

We had our change in 2004 but somehow not enough people voted against him. Where were you? Sleeping. Like always. Lazy, sleeping Americans. You've got television (now in HD so it's even more compelling), your video games, movies... what more could you need. Who cares about what's going on in the world! Well, now I bet you do! Most people do.

It's time to start picking intelligent people to serve in public office. Pick the smart one, the one that has reasonable arguments, the one that can admit mistakes, the one that will share their plans and insights with you. "We're America and we'll kick your ass," is not an effective way to run a republic.

There was a soldier interviewd on "All Things Considered" today that had the opportunity to ask King George a question. He asked if there was a plan if the troop escalation didn't work,

Well, I would say to Ryan, uh, I put it in place on the advice of a lot of smart people, particularly the military people, who thinks it will work and, uh let us go into the into this aspect of the Iraqi strategy feeling it will work. But, I will also assure Ryan that we are constantly adjusting to conditions on the ground.

Oh, I see, it's very clear and rational, we feel it will work. That's completely logical and I see exactly why this is the strategy toward "Mission Accomplished."

The soldier was not satisfied with his answer.

This week Bush signed a directive (KC Star) that every agency will have a regulation office with an appointee of his, he has consistently asked for line-item veto, he makes these ridiculous signing statements exerting power that the presidency shouldn't have and he completely ignore the will of the people. Bush has admitted to not reading the news. How is he in his position? Better yet, why is he still there! Lies, lies, lies and he's still there.

Welcome to Imperial America.
