Seat Fabrication

Café style! I've got the mold ready to start laying fiberglass! I cut the seat base out of 1/2" plywood and used chicken wire to shape the tail cowl. I've got it stuffed with newsprint to help hold the shape while I lay down the first layer of glass. So far I'm really happy with how it's turning out.

I've got a few other things to do now that it's fall and I'm not completely torn up about not having my bike ready to ride at a moments notice. Notable items are new sprockets and chain. The previous ownder put a smaller gear up front which is nice for highway riding but it's really sluggish off the line. There's a lot of clutch needed to get it started on any type of incline. I've got to replace the fork oil and hopefully find my charging problem.

Your site is always good for a chuckle. It's funny to see how much we've all grown up. Maren says "hi" and she is expecting a baby girl in March. Her son is Declan Cooper, her daughter will be Chelsea, so I suggested they have one more daughter and name her Alison so as to complete the trilogy.

Cafe! Nice. Don't forget to install a couple of fork boots when you have the forks apart. That'll give the front end a badass cafe racer look. Keep doing what you're doing, man.

Oh there will be fork boots!
