Ramblings From Justin Penney

I spent a few hours last satruday making calls for Moveon.org. Someone in my neighborhood had a party for the Call for Change party thing. It was a good time. i met some interesting people.

The calls were interesting. We were calling on behalf of Sherrod Brown in Ohio. Most of us didn't know what was going on in this race so it was a little odd being removed from it so far. At first the script seemed really long "Hy my name is... Moveon... Sherrod Brown.... can we count on your vote."

At first I would stop and ask if it was a good time or if they had time... always got a no. It was actually better to just blaze through it and not give the person a chance to respond.

There were a few responses: hangups the most common, followed by completely support for and Democrat, followed by undecided, followed by "no." The best was "We don't vote for no democrats here! *click*" Of course this person had a very southern accent.
