I've been borrowing a Sidekick II from Kyle. My Treo 600 bit the bullet in a slow and annoying, well... annoying to the people on the other end of the phone, way. It would just start buzzing at the other party after a while on the phone. Everyone was complaining about it so I retired it.

I really liked the Treo. I'm comfortable with the PalmOS as it was my third Palm based device and it really did help me keep organised. The phone was OK. The internet was really crappy. None of the browsers were all that good and being plain GPRS the speed was very lacking. It also seemed to crash a lot. The Treo 650 fixed alot of problems (like EDGE instead of GPRS) but are so stupidly expensive that I would rather buy a laptop!

So far I've been really impressed with the Sidekick II. The features are all integrated really well and it seems a lot more stable than the Treo. The only real problem I had was that there was no alarm clock. I have used my cell as an alarm clock for the last 5 years so that's a pretty critical feature. I downloaded (bought for 5 f'in dollars) the Time Traveler app. It didn't work and I called support and they had me re-download it and it appears to work. It doesn't have snooze though so I need to set about 8 different alarms since I'm a heck of a snoozer!

The only real downside is that people make so many Paris Hilton references. What about Snoop?!?! He was in commercials too! I don't really like rap that much but I do know that I would rather be associated with Snoop Dogg than Paris Hilton. Unless we're talking about "association" at that point... well... I dunno...

Freaking phones are crazy. When the Starboard side was in they were like a walking cell phone commercial. Jason wasn't (no phone) but everybody else had songs goign off and texts and messages going like crazy. They were literally the loudest band I've recorded before we even had drums set up! Ryan was telling me about Adriana's thousands of text messages a month and I was literally in awe. The kids text without looking at the screen! I never texted much because I was so slow on the 10 key to type words. I only got into texting with the Treo since it had a full keyboard. I can fly on the Sidekick though! Wow... huge buttons.
