Taking the Pill
As I choked down and Allegra-D and searched for some Ibuprofen to dull the pound in my head I realised that I had finally made peace with modern medicine. Other than antibiotics (which are obviously good and life saving) I had pretty much always shyed away from taking medicines until absolutely necesary. I never liked the psych meds that I was on as a teenager, I never liked the pain killers that made everything fuzzy. I wouldn't even take anything for a headache until it felt like my head was going to pulsate right of my neck.
Not anymore. If my nose runs I want something to stop it up. If I have some phlegm I want an expectorant. If something hurts make it stop.
