It's Over
No more shopping, no more lights, no more consumerism in the name of a god...
Credit card bills, shrinking bank accounts, rearranging to ensue.
I think I'm done with the obligatory gift giving. I think instead of saving it all up for one day of the year that we should really just give things to people as we see fit. If I find something that Friend X would like, and I feel generous, I should just give it to them.
Force giving... or worse, not known expected giving is a pain. Cost/value discrepancies, forgetting someone that you didn't know was involved this year, living up to last year's gifts. Just too much pressure when you just want to make people happy.
Next year I want everyone to just go buy their own presents. It saves everybody the time and everyone will get exactly what they want.
