Ramblings From Justin Penney

So instead of just complaining about traffic and gas and our reliance on oil and crappy mass transit I finally did something about it... I rode the bus. There is a stop that is 2 miles from my house and the last stop is at Union station which is 2.5 miles from my office.

So I ride my bike to the bus stop, put the bike on the rack, ride the bus downtown and ride my bike to the office. I obviously reverse this to go home. The nice part is that I don't have to do crap! The bike ride is pretty nice. The bus ride is, well... I guess it's enlightening. I know it's longer and slower (1 hour) but when I look out the window and see all of that traffic I can just smile smugly and let the driver worry about it. There's time to read or day dream or nap, honest leisure time.

I definitely think I'm going to try to ride as much as possible, if nothign else I might stay sane a little longer. The only major drawback is that the last bus leaves KC at 5:10. No giong out to dinner or riding out for drinks then taking the bus home. I'm just outside of KC proper enough that I don't get full bus service.
