I hate being sick

Last week I had some chest congestion. I went to the doctor and was given a prescription for Zithromax. I held off on taking it until after New Years since I was going to drink on New Years and that hinders the effectiveness of anti-biotics. So New Years comes. Yay! We watched Napoleon Dynamite with Ryan and Tiffany and just had a good relaxing evening. I go to bed around 2:00 a.m.

At 3:00 a.m. I wake up with the worst pain I have ever had in my mouth! I swallow a billion ibuprofen and wait for them to kick in then go back to bed around 4:00 a.m. Back up at 7:00 a.m. I go get some oral anasthetic at Walgreen's and make an appointment to see a doctor for something for the pain. The kind doctor gave me some Tylenol 3 and it takes care of it enough that I drink that night too!

So this night is just like the last. But it's Sunday so I'm pretty well screwed. I just keep popping the Tylenol.

Monday I pick a dentist. It's a sedation dentist since the dentist is the absolute most scary thing in the world to me. However, they can't get me in until Friday. So I keep on the Tylenol and rest as pain wipes your ass out. I also start gettign a stuffy nose. I also start the anti-biotics.

Tuesday the stuffy nose has turned into a swollen face, eyes close, completely blocked, stinky, green sinus infection. The whole right side of my face hurts like crazy. My nose is runnign but I can't blow it because it is completely blocked off.

Wednesday I actually make it to work despite the 1" ice storm we had the night before. I got my crashed workstation back running and took care of some outstanding support issues. My face just kept pounding harder and I left about 1:00 p.m. and went back to the doctor. He checked my ears, and my, "yellow and red" sinuses, and I had barely opened my mouth when he exclaimed, "Yeah... that's a red throat." I took the deep breaths and he told me that I had a sinus infection, and infection in my throat and bronchitis... and my tooth still hurts! I'm having an awesome freaking new year!

Because of this I cancelled the first show that I've ever cancelled in my life. I can barely sit still let alone sing and play guitar. I feel like a complete ass about cancelling, so lame. Come to think of it... I played a show at a New Years party a few years ago with a 102 degree fever. I'm always freaking sick at New Years.

The only plus side is that I'm actually going to the dentist which is something that I have long neglected to do and one of the few things that even crossed my mind when thinking about making a resolution.
