Vacation is Awesome
Jacey and I are both still on vacation. We didn't go anywhere, didn't plan anything we're jsut relaxing and winging it for a whole week. We've been doing a lot fo just haning out which is a leasant change. We're not stressed from work and all teh other stuff and can just relax and enjoy each other.
Saturday we went motorcycle shopping. After sitting on about a million bikes it came down to the Triumph Bonneville and the Harley Sprotster. I've since decided on the Bonnie and plan on getting one as soon as someone buys my Prelude. That night we had a small party for Jacey's birthday. It was actually supposed to be a big party with a keg but a LOT of people didn't show that were supposed to. Pretty typical for social events that we plan.
Sunday we hung with my Dad and talked about the plans on the repair of our RX-7. It' actually coming along pretty well and should be in a new coat of paint in another week or so. It was rainy so we didnt' get any work done to it that day. We also hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's house for a little while. I think we jsut sat around and drank taht night. Good night there!
Monday was Jacey's birthday. We had lunch with her sister, Carey, then Jacey and Carey went to their Mom's. Shane came over and I showed him the his last chance songs and we talked a while about playing and music in general. I'm pretty sure that Shane is rejoining his last chance but playing bass instead of guitar.
Tuesday Jacey and I had a "Kansas City Day." I took her places that she had never been in KC. We started off by heading to lunch at Sol Azteca. Sol Azteca is by far my favorite mexican restaraunt. Now that we're stuffed with mexican food we head ove to the Liberty Memorial. I'd never been there except for the times that I had gone to the Reggae Festival and we were both in awe at the size of the whole thing. It's amazing when you get up there and start walking around.
We headed up to 39th street. We went in to Sacred Earth (which is sadly going out of business). I purchased some Nag Champa to get the studio smelling good and we walked up the block to Prospero's books. I'd never been in this book store but totally loved it! It's one of those stores you can just get lost in! Great place to be.
There were a few places that we were trying to go that were closed on Tuesday. What the hell is with that?! Close on Tuesday?! Anyway...
We rounded out the day trying to deliver flyer to Benders (who are closed due to some water related problems) and hit some record stores in Westport. We picked up From Finish to Starting Line by Counterfit, the latest Death Cab for Cutie, the latest Belle and Sebastian, and Shellac at Action Park. Good CDs! I also picked up an amp stand at Musician's Friend. Major difference in the dispersion of the sound from my amp. I can't wait to play it in a band setting.
Today has been a total lazy day. We've sat around reading, made some potato and lentil soup, mixed up some margaritas to take to Dad's. Just totally relaxing.
