Ramblings From Justin Penney

6 straight days recording. Tuesday through Thursday I recorded a 3-piece from the Raymore area called Lucille Ln. They are coming back on Tuesday to finish up some vocals. One night they had a cymbal that inverted itself. It was good for some laughs and is making a nice curiosity to hang around downstairs.

Friday night and Saturday a band from Lawrence called The Monarch Song came out. This is the most involved and layered project I've done so far. There is a storm, birds chirping, noise from a turntable, and some cool fades. This is also one of the more unique bands I've heard lately. There are a lot if different style coming together on this. I can't wait to get the mix done and get a sample up.

Sunday, Grant from Colbern (and also from The Monarch Song) came back to do vocals on Colbern's tracks. These came out really good and it's definitely refreshing to hear some words to their music.
