Ramblings From Justin Penney

It's nice to come back to a project on fresh ears a settle down and just mix. Hearing all the time come together and the intricate layers come in just when you want them to. Of course the best part is when you put it on the crappy bookshelf stereo and it still rocks!

I've got most of the Lucille Ln. stuff mixed and ready for them to finish out their parts on. This has been a beautifully simple project! It's 3 kids just out of high school and there was no exceptional production just playing music and meaning it. Really refreshing.

The Monarch Song is the complete opposite: intricate, layered, mature. This is the most involved material I've worked with so far. They all had a good vision coming in and I get to piece it together. It's really exciting to hear the changes and here the songs come to life.
